The M12 Interlock adapter is used to connect an emergency-stop button to a MG Master LV.When the emergency-stop button is pressed the MG Master LV will open its main safety contactor immediately and goes to the failsafe state.
The M12 interlock adapter may only be used to open the main safety contactor in case of emergency.
The M12 Interlock adapter consists of three connectors:
- M12 Female
- M12 Male
- 2-pin green terminal connector
Connection RJ45
The steps below describe the connection procedure.
- Connect a Normally-Closed emergency-stop button to the 2-pin green terminal connector.
- Connect the M12 CAN-Bus starting from the MG Master LV (most left M12 Female connector of the BMS CAN-Bus) and connect it to the M12 Interlock adapter.
- Connect the next M12 cable from the M12 Interlock adapter to the first battery.
- Connect the other M12 CAN-Bus cables to the batteries.
Connection M12
The steps below describe the connection procedure.
- Connect a Normally-Closed emergency-stop button to the 2-pin green terminal connector.
- Connect the M12 CAN-Bus starting from the MG Master LV (most left M12 Female connector of the BMS CAN-Bus) and connect it to the M12 Interlock adapter.
- Connect the next M12 cable from the M12 Interlock adapter to the MG Energy Monitor
- Connect the next M12 cable from the MG Energy Monitor back to the Master LV (most right M12 Male connector of the BMS CAN-Bus).
- Connect the battery CAN-Bus cables as normally.
Important Note - Before the emergency stop works the Emergency stop setting must be enabled in the settings. This can done either with the MG Connect App or MG Diagnostic Tool.
